Colloquium IGB - Roberta Milanese
Strategic communication is no longer a descriptive communication but injunctive, performative. It encourages feeling .
With hypnosis without trance. These techniques serve to arm the other person with greater suggestiveness. So that the person can follow the recommendations (prescriptions helping the expected resolution of the problem)
By observing the non-verbal, we can understand when we can introduce the prescription.
Suggestive or injunctive communication:
- voice and gaze
- mimicry
- the prosody
- tone of voice
In this type of communication it is essential to use redundancy as a refrain.
This redundancy makes it possible to capture the person and his state. Redundancy can be obtained in different ways:
paraphrases to be used in strategic dialogues, especially in TOCs: when the patient is asked to repeat his ritual a large number of times.
“I would like that each time you go to repeat your ritual, if you do it once you do it 5 times, and not one more or a month.
You can not do it, but if you do it once you do it 5 times » -> allows you to create this trance state thanks to hypnosis without trance
use of evocative language - what Watzlawick calls right-brain language = non-digital analog communication
Metaphors / aphorisms that allow the person to understand and above all to feel differently what French and Alexander called a corrective emotional experience (EEC).
What allows the person to react differently / very different from what one can obtain in a rational way.
The maximum result is obtained with the CROP + EVOCATIVE IMAGE
The use of this evocative communication must be strategic.
The strategic speaker evokes the image to obtain a result according to the stage of advancement. For example to tune in with the person.
Example of a paranoid person saying that a co-worker constantly assaults him in the office :
This is a circular process in which the patient creates the rejection. We can't explain it to him directly .
But we can, through strategic dialogue, make him feel that his aggressive reaction may not be unpleasant for the other.
We can doubt. Every time you attack him, you are playing his own game. Congratulations, this other person would like to thank you. Then we add, you know the time has come to learn how to kill the snake with its own venom. They like this image which evokes for the parano a positive exit. The best venom for the paranoid will be to respond with kindness to aggression.
All paranoia have always followed this prescription: be kind to an aggressor.
Whereas at first he would have rejected this prescription.
It's a new way to use evocative language.
Example of a hypochondriac patient : you are like a broken puppet with your eyes turned inward. The language becomes evocative. It is used to unblock solution attempts. We can give it a positive impetus towards what we want it to do.
A depressed person who has resigned : The worker tells him that resignation is daily suicide
The good strategic speaker is the author and interpreter of his own scenes and musical strategies. It must constantly change while remaining the same. It must be flexible enough to be able to rotate around its own axis.
