Speech by Claude Monnier, Sony Music HRD Extract from web-conference - Interview G. Vitry
The music industry is in the midst of a revolution. Currently in a job protection plan, the first quarter of 2013 shows positive growth. Sony Music is in a logic of change management with departures. New professions are emerging with new recruitment needs. Music is lived today in a digital way. The profiles sought must have a good appetite for new technologies. In this context, we have established a privileged global partnership with linkedIn. Both to build partnerships and to recruit. We have two gateways to LinkedIn. One to present our universe and its different components, the other to access the profile confidentially.
Question: does this mean that you recruit primarily via Linked in?
The musical universe is attractive, we receive 200 spontaneous CVs per day.
Vacancies are confidential. As a result, we do not run our ads. Regarding our latest recruitments, 50% come from LinkedIn, 50% come from cooptation. Given our economic context and our needs, I do not look at traditional recruitment criteria. The linearity of the courses, the time scale and the diplomas are not our selection criteria. It is a passion sector. It is "the" motivational engine, you have to be open to changes and developments. We recently created three new professions related to new technologies. When recruiting, I look at the way the person expresses, online, their relationship with the musical universe. I want to know how it is connected, the use of new technologies. I am interested in his contributions on blogs and social networks in general.
Question: Do you look at Facebook. ?
I do not authorize myself to use this medium to assess the relevance of a candidate. It's a rule I don't want to break.
Question: do you use Klout to measure the candidate's influence?
Not yet, but it will come. In conclusion, I would say that the main evolution in the field of HR is the consideration of new technologies in the broad sense. The final word: Be lenient with your HR .
Question what integration between HR and DIRCOM?
We have integrated internal and external HR communication into the HR department.
