I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice in Louisiana and Mississippi. Although I’m from a small town in south Louisiana and grew up among the rice fields and dirt roads of that rich cajun culture, New Orleans is my favorite city in the world, and where I call home.
My doctorate is in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and I also have a Masters degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. This, along with being a Certified Family Mediator, has given me the skills to offer consultation services to couples and families going through separation and divorce.
I’d like to say I specialize in women’s issues, especially those surrounding self-confidence, maintaining a sense of self and independence in a relationship, and working through the grief and insecurities of infidelity. I’ve also taught courses for Tulane University in Gender Studies & Sexuality, and this gives me a bit of an edge in new research for women’s studies.
Another specialty of mine is in Life Coaching. You may feel fine emotionally, but you’re stuck with a decision to make in a relationship, your career, or your overall lifestyle design. You may be ready to reinvent yourself, and you could use some objectivity and someone to help you map out the next chapter in your life. I could help you do that.
As a therapist, I offer pre-marital counseling as well. I’d like the chance to meet once as a couple, to determine your needs and expectations. From that initial session, we can decide together if you’d like to use coursework in sessions, or you just need some fine-tuning in your communication with each other.
