      WEB TRAINING MODULE 2023/24

The practice of the systemic grid Level Practical

By Vincent Gérard and Olivier Brosseau

This 5-session module presents the fundamental elements of the systemic model and its main strategic characteristics.

      The systemic and strategic approach

It is based on an intervention method developed by the School of Palo Alto and developed by its current research centers. Its specificity and originality are:

      • to know how to apprehend the complexity of human relations and bring a biopsychosocial vision to the psychological and relational problems that develop in ever more volatile, unpredictable, complex and ambiguous contexts.
      • to be strategic in terms of relational regulation by relying on 2 essential techniques which are problem solving and strategic communication, which make it possible to reduce the complexity of a relational situation without distorting it and to obtain effective operational effects and sustainability in resource development and problem solving.

"A look at the world, an intervention model and a strategic and pragmatic approach to voluntary change."
      Claude de Scorraille

      Description

The module " Practice of the systemic grid " includes 15 hours of lessons, divided into 5 sessions and approximately 15 hours of personal work. It makes it possible to experiment with each step of the Palo Alto School's Brief Therapy Center grid from a perspective of strategic systemic intervention. Thanks to practical exercises in sub-groups, combining concrete practice and observation, you will have the opportunity to appropriate the main issues of an intervention: the contextualization of a problem, the position of the patient and his vision of the world, the clarification of an interactional sequence through which the problem is currently and concretely perceived, the clarification of the patient's attempts at solution and the formalization of a minimum intervention objective.

      • 100% online, it alternates face-to-face half-days including individual or sub-group work time.
      • it is provided by specialized international trainers from the clinical and business worlds.

      Openings/specialization
The “ Practice of the systemic grid ” module enables experimentation with the implementation of the intervention grid of the strategic systemic approach.
This additional cross-cutting contribution is transferable to different types of activities and functions of support, education and helping relationship professionals or stakeholders in the clinical world.

      Formation's goal

Implement the system grid within a framework of strategic systemic intervention and implement the self-observation approach of one's practice.

Skills acquired at the end of the training

      • Present their intervention framework including a simple presentation of their intervention methodology and feedback tools in order to secure the patient and stimulate their commitment to the therapeutic process
      • Build a solid therapeutic relationship using precise reformulation, strategic questioning, an attitude calibrated to the specificity of the patient in order to maintain and strengthen their mobilization and commitment
      • Diagnose the systemic and interactional dynamics of the problem using strategic dialogue in order to implement prescriptions intended to help the patient solve his problem
      • Giving a 180-degree prescription of the main identified solution attempt with a view to blocking it and bringing the patient into a corrective emotional experience
      • Organize each session by respecting the different stages of the strategic systemic intervention with a view to reducing and/or solving the problem
      • Initiate a process of self-observation of practice using the session documentation tool and patient feedback in order to develop a discipline of self-improvement in practice
