Physiotherapist by initial training, I quickly understood that whatever the problems (disorder of the body, physiology/psyche, mind) their anchoring was double, both in the body and in the psyche.
Cancer, pain, were always accompanied by more or less ruminating negative thoughts; a depression, relational problems always ended up registering in the body (“I have full the back of it”), in the form of pains, even of cancer. During my thirty years of professional life, this double anchoring has guided my training choices and my way of caring for my patients. The need for attentive listening, without judgment, allowing the creation of an empathic therapeutic link imposed itself on me. Little by little, I accompanied my patients in what they had most intimately and I specialized in the management of pelvic and perineal rehabilitation, in particular pudendal pain and endometriosis, and sexual disorders. Taking charge of psychological difficulties, while remaining attentive to their inscription in the body, has become an unavoidable necessity for me.
